Tottenham Hotspur FC
- The Socks that Saved Christmas
I was commissioned by Tottenham Hotspur FC to illustrate their 2024 Christmas story, released in partnership with the National Literacy Trust to support literacy and encourage book donations to disadvantaged children. The story was read by Heung-Min Son, Ben Davies and Lena Gunning-Williams, and broadcast on Christmas Eve across Tottenham's digital channels to millions of supporters worldwide.
The video had over 1 million plays on Instagram
Project details
The brief, my process and final delivery of artwork.
I was briefed to design two children and their families set in contemporary London at Christmas:
-
Warm, diverse, and recognisably real
-
The project involved full character development followed by a set of 14 illustrations, delivered across three stages: roughs, colour roughs, and finals
-
The turnaround was tight - under one month from brief to delivery - with two rounds of client feedback built in
-
I worked directly with Tottenham's Production and Marketing teams throughout.

Project outcomes
The story was released on Christmas Eve across Tottenham's website and social media channels, reaching their global fanbase. It received excellent feedback from the client and accumulated over 1 million plays on Instagram.
