The Crystal Palace dinosaurs are one of the stranger things in London — Victorian-era concrete sculptures of creatures that turned out to be quite scientifically wrong, standing around a lake in South London as if absolutely nothing is unusual about this. I love them. I drew them from life, sketchbook in hand, while a number of passing dogs expressed mild alarm.
A good one for anyone who lives nearby and has walked past them a hundred times, or for someone who visited once and never quite got over it. Also an excellent choice if you have a child who is into dinosaurs and would appreciate being told that the ones in the picture are technically iguanodons standing upright.
